Former Kentucky football coach Hal Mumme arrested in Lexington

Former Kentucky football coach Hal Mumme was arrested early Friday morning in Lexington, according to court records.

Mumme, who coached the Wildcats from 1997 to 2000, was charged with second-degree criminal trespassing and resisting arrest after being taken into custody following an incident at the downtown Hyatt Regency Lexington. He was set to appear in court for an arraignment Friday afternoon.

In his arrest citation form Lexington Police, Mumme is accused of knowingly unlawfully remaining in a building. He was asked and told multiple times to leave the building, the citation said, but refused. Mumme is also accused of attempting to prevent a peace officer from affecting the arrest by "using physical force and violence against the peace officer.
